Healthy Haircut–Missing FOUR inches…

It had to be done… I needed a haircut/trim desperately, but was afraid to take the leap to actually go through with it.  I took a drive on Saturday to some old stomping grounds (where we lived when we first got married and where my grandmother happens to also live) for a quick visit and a much needed hair appointment.  Jack from The Hair Studio perked up some highlights for me and cut… no, NO, CHOPPED some inches (4, to be exact) off my hair.  I have mixed feelings… I know it NEEDED to be done, but I was not ready to lose that much length.  He pointed out that my ends were pretty scraggly from being so thin (read this post to learn why) and I had more split ends than I care to admit so I put my trust in him and told him to do what needed to be done.  I’m such a girl, I may have cried a little when I saw how much had been ‘cleaned up’ but I’m coping.  Yes, I know, my hair is still long, but it’s just not as long as it used to be.  The Hubs can’t quite wrap his head around that… Ladies, please tell me you get it?

So here is an after picture – my hair wasn’t quite curling like it should due to an overload of product but after a good washing today and my normal routine, I felt like it was manageable.  Maybe this is why I wait a good five months or so in between cuts – it’s always pretty traumatic for me!  Happy Monday…

Your hair was SO long that I can definitely tell you lost some length but it looks so very healthy and like you're getting that thickness back because of the cut? Still beautiful! :0)

I feel for you! I only get my hair cut 2 maybe 3 times a year because of that feeling. I can tell you got a "trim" but it looks really pretty still. It can always grow...maybe try some biotin.

I know exactly what you mean. The longer it gets the more attached you get to it. And the more the hairdressers think you won't notice a good chop.

Totally know what you mean. It's been 5 months since my last hair cut. I'm going to have the same feeling as you once I get it cut (always do because it's gets chopped too much lol).
Your hair looks great though!

Do you still have any prenatal vitamins you could take again? Those always help my hair grow a lot. I love the cut though!

You look gorgeous as always! But yes I totally get how hard it is to "part" (haha) with you're hair. Love your blog girl!

That is an awesome suggestion!! I will grab some and take I with some prenantals. The biotin might help with the amount I have been shedding too!

It still looks long to me, but I can imagine 4" felt like a lot at that length. Awww...it will grow back. You have a nice head of hair :)
